Akasha was founded in Five Dock in 2015 on one simple idea: create high quality, hop-forward beers and get them into as many hands as possible.

Freshwater Pale Ale led the way that April, the beer that introduced Akasha to the world and, a decade on, still hasn't been knocked off its perch as our most popular.

Hops have always been the obsession, and for good reason. With the right variety and the right hands, hops can pull an almost infinite range of flavour out of a single beer style, and getting there can be a challenge! That challenge is what pulled us in from the start, and it's what's kept us here: chasing the kind of bold, authentic, US-style beers that weren't easy to find in Australia, and putting in the years it took to actually get them right. From there, Akasha grew into one of the country's most respected hop-forward breweries.

In order keep spreading the hop obsession, Akasha is now part of the Powder Monkey Group, a family of Australian breweries sharing distribution, resources and reach, which means our beer now travels further than ever, across the country and beyond, without ever losing its home. We're still Five Dock through and through: same obsession with hops, same people, same neighbourhood.

Akasha is our team, our families, our friends, and the locals who've shaped us along the way. We love making everyday experiences remarkable, whether that's crafting a beer, plating a dish in our venues, or hosting an event, and we love sharing it with as many people as possible.
