The turn of the century – 1999 to the end of 2000 – was a wild time.

History had ended! Fluoro pastels and baggy pants ruled! Y2K! The fat dripping beats of Dre and Snoop spilled out of speakers everywhere as hip hop finally hit the stratosphere, and West Coast craft beer was similarly taking off in a big way.

Of course, that was then and this is now and as it turned out history didn’t end! Dr Dre and Snoop endured – did somebody say Menulog? – and even fluoro pastels, big pants and the Taliban have made a comeback, sadly.

Another thing that’s stuck around though – and more power to it, we say – is craft beer, and in particular West Coast IPAs. So what better kind of beer to celebrate IPA Day with than a nod to the classic, old-school West Coast style?

That’s The Chronic for you. A king-size hit from the hop, full of dank piney flavours and shimmering tropicals: a double-sized tribute to the daze of old with everything layered together in seamless harmony.

At 8%, the beer’s nice, piney bitterness is followed by a rich profusion of our favourite hops, in a throwback to the OG stylings of IPA pioneers. Sure, it’s a little nostalgic, but who cares when the beer’s this good?

Get some mates over. Crank the Kenwood stereo and settle in on the brown couch for an epic sesh. The West Coast is calling, and Dr Dave has a four-pack of The Chronic waiting for you with your name on it.

Interested? Score some of The Chronic from our online store, or a stockist near you… before it all disappears in a puff of smoke.
